This image was originally shared in color on social media so our family and friends that could not make it to Maple's dance recital could see how beautiful our little ballerina was. In the color image you can see the shiny details and pretty pastel colors of her costume. The black and white image however gives a feel of time standing still. I think the black and white image suits the story behind the picture more, as Maple was eagerly awaiting her dad's arrival before her performance at her very first recital. I look at this picture and wish time would stand still so I could love on this little girl forever. She is growing up so fast, and her Aunt Katie can't stand it. I titled this image Tiny Ballerina, because that is exactly what she is. I don't think this particular title will change the audiences perception of the picture since the title is a basic description of what can be seen in the image.

This is a really cute picture. I do like the color picture better because you can see how colorful and shiny her outfit is. She does appear to be anxiously awaiting. When I looked at the picture before reading you text. I thought she was going to be next on stage, it didn't occur to me she was waiting on someone, not something. I think if black and white he does have a more serious feel and does make more timeless.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that I have ever "ahhhhed" out loud to any picture. This is the most precious thing I have ever seen. When you add the story you had us at the edge of our seats praying that her daddy got there in time. I love her name!
ReplyDeleteThank you, she is a little diva though because she knows shes cute. Her daddy made it in time and after all the waiting he still had to bribe her to take one more picture because she was tired of being in "all the pictures".
DeleteTint Ballerina what a elegant name for a beautiful picture. I do think that the color photo makes me smile in anticipation of her big moment. Where the black and white although she is still elegant and I can see she is in a dance costume I can't appreciate the joy. Maybe that is just me. I do believe the audience stays the same. Thank for sharing such a lovely moment.
ReplyDeleteI think that this picture is stunning in color. It is so fun and reminds me of something I would pick out to wear when I was little because of the fun colors. But I love the meaning behind the black and white photo.
